The Bird Feeder is St. Louis Park High School’s food shelf that is operated by students, for families in need. We package orders in the class, School Store Business Operations. In alliance with the district’s mission, this nonprofit business allows us to show our brilliance and empower us to run an organization that helps our immediate community and fellow students. The ultimate goal is to be able to provide well-rounded meals for students and families. The Bird Feeder services are completely confidential so families in need feel comfortable asking for these essentials. 

According to MN Report Card, 27% of our high school students qualify for free or reduced lunch. That is nearly 1 out of 3 students. We strongly believe that no student or family should worry about basic necessities, such as where their next meal is coming from . By operating this non-profit organization in the High School, we can truly live the message, “I am because we are”. We will continue to strive towards our mission of all families having the basic needs they deserve. 

Our services include emergency food bags, hygiene bags, and snack boxes.  Your privacy is important.  That is why all services must be requested  by a counselor, who then will contact us and we will package the products. Then, we deliver them to the counselor who requested, and they will connect with your family on receiving the package.  We package all of our orders without knowing who the counselor requested the products for.
