Han Dynasty China

The Bronze Flying Horse is a famous statue from the East Han Dynasty. It is in the Gansu Provincial Museum. The statue shows a galloping horse stepping on a flying swallow.

This is a picture of Zhang Qian leaving for Central Asia on his big trip, called an expedition. The picture comes from a wall painting, or mural, in the Chinese city of Dunhuang.

Four gentlemen were having a debate during the Eastern Han Dynasty. This was a time with many cultures. But there were also many problems because people at the king’s court and in politics did not always agree.
