Welcome to Beau Chêne High School! Here, we bring the learning communities of Arnaudville, Leonville, Sunset, Grand Coteau, and Cankton together under one roof with one shared goal: quality education through quality instruction in an environment that is safe, caring, and conducive to learning. It is our mission to provide rigorous engagement, promote sound values and civic responsibility, develop strong interpersonal skills, and prepare our students for successful participation in twenty-first century society. Our belief is that all students should be involved in school activities at all levels, and we go to great lengths to ensure that their efforts are supported by the administration, faculty, staff, and school community. We look forward to having you join us on our campus for the upcoming school year as part of our Gator family!
To really answer this question the right way, we have to ask you another: "What are you interested in?" The next four years are intended to prepare you for being college and/or career ready after high school. The only way that can happen in the right way is if you give some serious thought to your goals for the future. With that game plan in mind, we can help you to choose those courses which will be of the most benefit to you. Our goal is for you to not only be successful, but happy after you graduate. You won't need to take EVERY SINGLE A.P. CLASS WE OFFER in order to go to college for engineering, but you should consider some more challenging math classes at some point. Get it? The best thing is to do your homework by researching the career path of your choice and seeing what sort of knowledge or skills are required, and then plan accordingly. If you're unsure or don't know what you want to do after high school, that's okay - we'll help with that. The closer you get to what you're interested in, the better prepared you'll be for your own future.
Here's a quick informational rundown of what you need to know.
Before you do anything else, watch this first.
You'll want to read this carefully.
There's more than a few things you'll need to decide when you're planning out your classes for next year. We've put this packet together for you to have everything you need in one place.
You'll want to use the charts and lists included in this packet to make a rough outline of your schedule (we've included a worksheet, too) before using the official forms.
If you run into a problem or have any questions you need to ask, don't worry - just reach out to us.
Once you've submitted your Scheduling Form with all its requirements, our Guidance Counselors will review your requested classes to make sure that you've made the right choices for your chosen diploma pathway. We will also contact your current school to review any relevant test scores or grades that might impact your selected classes. Then, in the very near future, we will come out to your current school, help you to complete the scheduling process, and you'll be on your way to being a Beau Chêne Gator!
This stuff might be worth a look.
