Membership

There are currently 3 Main categories of membership in the Spring Lake Heights FD

• Active Membership
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Active firefighters or fire police members who actively engage in emergency activities and community events.
  • Attend Meetings, Drills
  • Help maintain the fire and rescue equipment and attend to the buildings and grounds
  • Full, unrestricted use of the building and grounds
• Junior Membership
  • Between 14 and 18 years of age
  • Actively responds to assist with emergency incidents in a support capacity
  • Attends and assists with community events
  • Attends meetings and drills
  • Helps maintain the fire and rescue equipment and attend to the buildings and grounds.
  • Restricted access to all building and grounds
• Auxiliary membership
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Does not participate in emergency response activities, but can monitor and assist outside the emergency scene
  • attends meetings
  • Attends and assists with community events
  • unrestricted access to building and grounds not associated with emergency operations.
