This is the start of my 29th year of teaching at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic School. I have been teaching grades K-8 Computer Technology for 14 years. I also teach Exploratory Latin classes for 7th and 8th grade students. In the past, I taught 5th grade for two years, 4th grade (one year during COVID), and I taught 3rd grade for eleven years at St. Louise. I am married and have adult 2 sons who both work in STEM fields. I have a grandson and a grand "dog". I am a Keystone Star Technology Innovator and was honored as the 2014 Pennsylvania Association of Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT) Teacher of the Year. I received a Golden Apple Award from the Diocese of Pittsburgh when I taught 3rd Grade. In 2017, I was honored with a Lead Learn Proclaim Award from the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and a Merita Award from the American Classical League (ACL). In 2020, I was honored as the Carnegie Science Middle Level Educator Awardee. I have been a Teacher Ambassador for the CREATE Lab for Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute. I serve on multiple committees for the American Classical League. I serve as Outreach Director for Ancient Coins for Education. I co-authored a children's book about Ancient Coins, A Griffin In Her Desk, with James R. Clifford. I love connecting modern technology with ancient studies and I love learning about Ed Tech and presenting at local, state, and national conferences. (I am also a level 40 Pokemon Trainer.)
In November 2024, I represented Cambridge University Press at the ACTFL conference in Philadelphia.
In January, I was awarded a grant to attend and presented again at FETC in Florida.
2024 - In January, I presensted at two conferences. One in Pittsburgh on AI and Machine Learning and the other in Orlando, FLorida on using STEM tools. I love featuring work of our students.
In November 0f 2024, I represented Cambridge University Press at the PSMLA conference in Seven Springs.
The Summer of 2023, I presented two sessions at ISTE in Philadelphia.
In the Summer of 2019, I was honored to be able to present at the ACL Summer Institute in New York City and at ISTE in Philadelphia.
