Fifth grade math standards include:
- write and interpret numerical expressions
- analyze patterns and relationships
- understand place value
- perform operations with multi-digit whole numbers, decimals to hundredths, and fractions
- convert like measurement units within a giving measurement system
- understand concepts of volume and relate volume to multiplication and division
- graph points on the coordinate plane to solve real-world problems
- classify two-dimensional figures into categories based on their properties
Writing Focus:
- Narrative
- Information
- Literary Essay
- Argumentative
Each Trimester will have a different focus with our Foss curriculum, touching on specific topics within the three main fields. We will also beginning an exploration into the engineering process by using the program TinkerCad in cooperation with our 3D printer to create applicable solutions to simplistic problems.
The first trimester will focus on Earth & Sun
The second trimester will focus on Living Systems
Third trimester, we will cover Mixtures & Solutions
