Meet the coaches

Coach Monroe begins his 13th year as the head girls basketball coach and his 20th season as a head basketball coach at San Luis Obispo High School. In twelve seasons, he has led the lady tigers to an overall record of 163-151, which include nine CIF playoff appearances and nine postseason victories. Previously, Coach Monroe led the lower level boys programs to a 121-40 record in 7 seasons. Monroe currently teaches Health and AVID at SLO High and is their management team chairperson. Coach Monroe enjoys spending time with his accomplished wife Sharon Day-Monroe and his two boys; Jayden (4 in December), and Jackson (1 year old this past April. 



Bailey is starting her second year of coaching at SLOHS as the JV Girl’s Head Coach. She grew up in San Luis Obispo. Her father was a basketball coach for more than 20 years and held multiple CIF championship titles in the area, and passed on his passion for basketball to Bailey at a very young age. Bailey played basketball for SLO High with Dan Monroe as her head coach. She is an Orthodontist Assistant for a local Doctor, and also coaches for a youth club program in town. When not working or coaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, her boyfriend Chip who is also a local volleyball coach, and their Husky Luna.
