Math
Unit 1 Multiplicative Thinking
Students will learn:
- Models, strategies, and multiplicative comparisons
- Open number lines, arrays, and ratio tables
- Multiplication and division story problems
- Factors, multiples, and prime numbers
- Multiplication facts and equations
Unit 2 Multi- Digit Multiplication and Early Division
Students will learn:
- How to use arrays and ration tables
- How to solve multiplication stories
- Early division with remainders
Reading
We will read a lot this year! We will grow as independent readers who summarize, recognize themes and understand the characters of stories. We will read non- fiction and complete research to support our thinking and we will fall in love with books! It is so important that your students read at home every day!!!

Writing
This year we will write Realistic Fiction, Informational and Opinion pieces.
Social Studies
Our focus will be California History including Native Americans, the Missions, and the Gold Rush.
Science
This year we will look at two science units: Environments and Soils, Rocks and Landforms. Our work will be very hands- on and fun!
