OPI & WPT

The Storm Lake Community School District is offering students the OPI/WPT exam for those speak a language other than those covered by the AAPPL, free of charge. Here is how students can be eligible for testing.

Any senior who identifies as biliterate is elegible to take the exam.

Information about the AAPPL Exam:

The OPI & WPT exam aligns to the ACTFL standards used to earn the seal for other languages.
Students need to score a minimum of Intermediate-Mid in all four domains (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) to be elegible for the seal.
Students can practice the exam by taking a demo OPI test and a WPT test.

Students may also arrange to assess with any of the other languages listed on the Iowa Department of Education's website at their own cost.
