This season's game

BioBuzz has middle school teams build, program, and drive robots throughout their season. The robots shoot balls called pollen and nectar. In the first 30 seconds, autonomous, robots move on their own. They can leave the wall for 3 points, park in a zone for 5 points, or shoot pollen or nectar to tip a see-saw structure called the Hive for a 20 points. When drivers take control for the final 2 minutes (tele-op), they continue to launch balls into the hive for points, drop pollen into Flowers, tube like structures, for 2 points each, or push balls into their Garden for 1 point each. At the end of the game you can also score in flowers if you have nectar in them. If you have the bottom most nectar, you get 5 points. If you have the uppermost nectar, you get 2 points for every other game piece in that flower.

After the match, teams receive ranking points. 3 for winning the match, 1 for tying the match, 1 for tipping the Hive 4 times, 1 for tipping it 7 times, and 1 for a total of 16 points from parking and leaving.
