Students Acolyte at Church 

Part of Salem’s confirmation experience involves service to our congregation through acolyting (assisting the worship leaders by lighting and extinguishing altar candles during worship). For those being confirmed at Salem, students are asked to serve at SIX (6) different worship services before the end of May 2024.

Acolytes serve at the 5:00, 8:00 & 10:30 services. Special Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter services are also available as options. At most services (except for Advent and Christmas), students will be paired with another student. Students will receive instruction on how to acolyte during confirmation class.

The website “We Join In” is used to sign up for acolyting slots. Please click on or cut and paste the following link into your web brower: www.wejoinin.com/sheets/azcvp . You will be taken to the website where you can sign up for no more than six (6) acolyting dates. Sign up is “first come, first served.” You will receive a confirmation email with instructions on what to do if you need to cancel the slot. You will also receive a reminder before the weekend that you acolyte.
