Depression DOES NOT only include feelings of sadness.
Sadness is a normal human emotion that can be triggered when a person, for example, fails a test or goes through a breakup. These are little events that people can get over and move on from. People who are sad can get back on their feet and have the motivation to try again. Depression is a mental disorder where a person is sad all the time, and cannot escape it. Their sadness may take up to a month or a year which is bad. People with depression would not have the motivation to move on or try again, they would feel hopelessness.
