FTK Crossing
FTK Campus
In san leandro high school there is a campus seperates to the main campus that is called the Fred T. Korematsu campus. Its split between a street and to get to a class in FTK you have to cross it we interviewed people and what their opinion about the campus being split from the school.
The Problem
With the FTK campus having to cross a street to get to the campus, there are a few problems with that in mind. The first one being that crossing the street is dangerous, especially if the one who are crossing the street are teenagers, some of them cross even with a green light for the drivers (Trust me I've seen it). Not only that but because we have to cross a street people are going to be late to class or we had to extend the time to ten minutes instead of seven to make it to class which also means less time in class, Sometimes students will just leave the school just because of palma plaza being right next to the schools. Also The campus no longer has lunch in that campus which makes no sense because theres a lunch area in FTK but no one can have lunch there. Last year we had lunch there and we did fine but now were all crowded up in main campus and some people don't get lunch cause the lunch lines are so long now at main.
To fix this we thought of having FTK a Freshman campus and have the building be only or mostly for freshman so that he can have reduced crowding and less people crossing the street each passing period. People also should be able to eat and hangout at FTK so that we can have less people at main, it will also be more convenient for people that have a class after lunch at FTK. We should try to make the freshman have more classes in FTK and the upperclassmen have more classes at main to make the least amount of traffic for the cross roads.
