By: Tia Grider and Ethan Burns, 4th Grade

Mr. Tony Grider is a teacher. He has worked for Skykomish School District for 14 years, but he has been teaching for 18 years. He is an art, history, and a civics teacher. "Teaching is the best job on the planet," says Mr. Grider. "It's even better than having a job where you play video games." Mr. Grider worked as a mayor, a cook, a janitor, a private investigator, a photographer and a security guard. His favorite part of teaching is building relationships with students and their families. He loves watching students become adults and building their own families. Mr. Grider does not like online school at all, and he hopes to get back into the classroom when it is safe for him and his family.

Mr. Grider has been married for 21 years. He has 7 children including two pets. Mr. Grider loves painting, cooking, photography, and spending time with his family. Mr. Grider has a 13 year old cat named Cupcake, and a 5 year old terrier dog named Tucker. Mr. Grider's goals are to become a better teacher, become a better artist, a better husband, and a better father. Mr. Grider lived in the town of Skykomish since 2016, but recently moved to Gold Bar. He enjoyed living in Skykomish more than Gold Bar.
