Welcome to your source of information for the Skutt Catholic High School Vocal Music Department! This site is one of the best ways for students, parents, alumni, and friends to stay connected to the vibrant and exciting world of singing at Skutt Catholic. We are currently celebrating the 33rd year of singing at our school. Being part of this program teaches students the importance of teamwork, the value of hard work, the ethic of good sportsmanship, and develops self confidence. Studies show that students who participate in programs such as this get better grades, have higher graduation rates, and get into less trouble than the student population as a whole. Thank you for visiting skuttcatholic.com, and may a song be ever in your heart!
In lieu of fundraising (i.e. selling coupon books, etc.) we are looking for sponsors to support the Skutt Catholic Choir Department. Your participation helps to build up our growing choral program and continue our great choir traditions. Funds collected through sponsorships will be used to support the program in a wide variety of ways throughout the school year. As always, we appreciate your support and generosity.
Corporate sponsors will have their business logo included in a full-color section of our concert programs. All individual and family donors will be recognized by name in the concert programs as well. Information and pledges should be received by Wednesday, October 1, 2025 for inclusion in all of our concert programs for the 25-26 school year. Follow the link below for more information and to make your pledge.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors, with at least one year (2 semesters) of high school choir experience, may audition for this performance oriented class. Auditions will be held during the month of March for the upcoming school year. Chamber Choir will consist of 16-24 balanced voices, and will meet separately from the Concert Choir. Honors credit is issued to all students who are a member of Chamber Choir. The ensemble will perform at four home concerts each year, as well as compete in District Music Contest and sing at other events throughout the year. Chamber Choir students will sing a variety of music, including music from all time periods and styles. In addition, the students meet their honors credit requirement by completing a research project in conjunction with each of the four home concerts. Chamber Choir members, like Concert Choir members, will have the opportunity to audition for All State, Regional and National Honor Choirs, Vivace and Allegro show choirs, Musettes women’s choir, and Hawkappella men’s choir. Singing with the Music Ministry ensemble for All-School Masses is always voluntary.
Congratulations to everyone who auditioned for the 2025-2026 Chamber Choir. The auditions were very competitive and I'm looking forward to working with both ensembles next year. We have some very talented singers here at Skutt Catholic, so 2025-2026 will certainly be an exciting year! The Chamber Choir will be featured as part of the SNJ A Cappella Concert in April of 2026. We also look forward to taking our performances on the road with the Concert Choir and show choirs in February of 2026.
This performance oriented class is open to all 9th-12th grade students, regardless of previous singing experience. The ensemble will study sophisticated choral literature and build upon part singing in choral music. Concert Choir students will sing a variety of music throughout the year, including music from all time periods and styles. The ensemble will perform at four home concerts each year, as well as compete in District Music Contest. Additional performance opportunities will be added as they are available and relevant. Concert Choir members also have the opportunity, with instructor permission, to audition for Nebraska All State Chorus, Regional and National Honor Choirs, Vivace and Allegro show choirs, Musettes women’s choir, and Hawkappella men’s choir. Singing with the Music Ministry ensemble for All-School Masses is always voluntary.
Congratulations and welcome to everyone who has enrolled in the 2025-2026 Concert Choir. If you know others who should enroll to sing with us, please let them know they are always welcome in the Choir Department. We know that this will certainly be an exciting year!
