An institution of higher learning is, by its very nature, engaged in a knowledge discourse that stimulates critical thinking and self-reflection. An important element of self-reflection for an institution is a quality audit that can determine a sustainable path to quality enhancement. Although external assessment and accreditation are an important element of a university's path to quality improvement, what is more important is the establishment of an internal mechanism for continuous quality improvement which will act as a precursor to the external mechanism.
In this Direction University has to take step to establish a cell for Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) as a sustainable framework for quality improvement in the Directorate of Planning & Monitoring IQA has to play an important role in facilitating the attainment of key targets that has been set forth by the University after its accreditation cycle and rankings.
As a University's nodal agency for assessment, accreditation, and quality enhancement related work. QA's cell role extends to all processes that are important for teaching & learning process, professional development, student assessment and satisfaction, administrative efficiency, research, extension and innovative activities.
To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internationalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
To make quality education through a combination of self and external quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance initiatives.
To arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of the University.
To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of teaching-learning, research, extension and innovation in the University.
To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations.
To undertake quality-related research studies, consultancy and training programmes, and collaborate with other stakeholders of higher education for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance.
To develop an effective mechanism for coordinating with different academic, research, extension and Innovation units which shall coordinate with members nominated in each unit for timely submission of required document.
Preparing a web based portal for faculty members and departments to upload their academic, research and extension activities of the University.
Organizing workshops on ranking, assessment and accreditation processes and quality indices for different stakeholders.
Collecting feedback from students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents for quality improvement in both academic and non-academic matters.
Applying for national rankings and awards like NAAC, NIRF, ATAL etc. and preparing yearly.
Publication of University Annual Report and Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR)
Training of nominated members in each unit to upload their statistical data on Portal of University website.
Monitor submission of monthly achievements/ progress reports from faculties, Research centres, KvK's etc.
Prepare and submit monthly Progress reports of the University to Raj Bhawan for perusal of Hon'ble Chancellor of the University.
The cell shall coordinate with all the units of the University through the
nominated members to be nominated by the cell for timely reception and
updation of requisite data.
As per UGC guidelines( annexure-I), IQAC is to be constituted in every institution under the Chairmanship of the Head of the institution.
