Do you want to learn new things or find others with similar interests? From the Art to Sustainability, there is something for everyone! Anyone can also create a club if they can find a club mentor and have it approved by administrators. You can join by emailing or talking to the advisor or joining the Google Classroom!

Academic Decathlon

The United States Academic Decathlon® is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students. Come be a part of our team, because not all competition happens on the field!

Meeting every Thursday after school from 2:02-3:00pm in Room 327 (snacks are provided).

SKHS Civics Club helps foster civic engagement, including promoting voter registration, providing accurate, quality information about elections, and promoting positive, peaceful political discussion about current events.

eSports

Club Mentor: Snow

Compete in competitive games ranging from Rocket League to League of Legends, as well as chill out and play casually on the school’s brand new gaming desktops! 

French Club

Students meet to enjoy French and francophone culture including (but not limited to) food, music, films and guests. All are welcome to join!

Freshman Mentor Program

The Freshman Mentor Program (FMP) is an advisory program that spans the length of freshman year and focuses on helping students create and maintain connections to campus, classmates and our community. The FMP upperclassmen mentors are “trusted guides” who help students become familiar with South Kingstown’s physical layout, policies, programs, traditions and personnel, while simultaneously developing powerful relationships with each freshman. 

Applications for rising juniors and seniors to apply to be a Freshman Mentor goes out the spring prior to the new school year. 

Garden Club

GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance)

A club that provides a safe place for students to meet, support each other, talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and work to end homophobia and transphobia.

In this club, we learn to improve the creative process, and we analyze work by our peers -- whether it is writing, drawing, or photography. Our goal is to have a published journal filled with creative work by students from SKHS.

Math Team

Peer to Peer (P2P)

P2P is a student led club that promotes education and awareness about mental health. Its goal is to reduce the stigma around mental health and connect students with resources for help.

Photography/Yearbook Club

The SKHS Photography Club is for students and photography lovers who want to learn how to get the most out of their digital SLR camera.  Students will investigate and experiment with photography techniques and utilize Photoshop software to enhance and manipulate images. No camera or experience necessary!

Rebel Theater Group

We put on a fall play together with The Contemporary Theater. We have a winter musical and end the year with a Spring play. 

This club has a production each Fall, Spring, and Winter. Meetings begin at 2:10pm in the Auditorium, however their end times may differ.

Relay for Life

Robotics Team

Design, build, and program robots to compete against other regional (and potentially national) teams. 

SafeBae

This group is the only national peer-to-peer organization. , We help promote culture change by giving teens the tools to become activists and shift school culture through raising awareness about dating violence, sexual harassment and assault, affirmative consent, safe bystander intervention, survivor care, and their rights under Title IX.

Sailing Club

SKHS and CCMS students get to use the URI sailing boats to sail and teach others in the club. We meet Friday afternoons for a two-hour sail Spring and Fall. Sailors and non-experienced welcome.

The fall season is from September to October. The spring season is from May to June. Meetings are on Fridays from 2:30-5:00pm in Room 225.

SKHS Cheerleading

Interested in joining the SKHS cheerleading squad? Come try out! The first two days will be learning one dance and one cheer, then the last day will be the official tryout day! No certain skills or experience is needed. We look forward to seeing new faces in the upcoming season! 

Tryouts are typically held in June at Hazard Field for both football and basketball cheer. Make sure you have an up to date physical on file and are registered on rSchoolToday in order to tryout.

SKPades

SKPades is a series of skits that showcase the talents of the students and give them the opportunity to poke fun at the school’s administration, its facilities and – most of all – the senior class.

The Student Council is responsible for events that affect the school and greater community. These events include but are not limited to... spirit events, fundraising for The Tomorrow Fund, working with social workers to provide gifts during the holidays, dances, working with administration to improve the school environment and issues that may be weighing on our community. Whatever the need is, the Student Council is here to make a positive impact.

VAASA  (Varsity Athletes Above Substance Abuse) is a group of student-athletes and leaders who aim to have healthy, positive lives.  VAASA members work with younger students to promote good decision-making and substance-free living.
