Mullenix Ridge AA students have been doing a great job practicing their writing and forming sentences to go along with a picture. They have been working hard on their reading and math goals as well.
The Burley group is also working hard and I have been so impressed by how much of their reading skills they retained over the summer. Great job everybody!

We have had a focus on measurement for our math goals in March. Check out these pictures to see some of the things we have used our measuring skills to create this month. Meanwhile, our reading students have had a focus on fluency, while going through the silly stories of our favorite children's author Dr. Seuss. As always, it is amazingly rewarding to work with your students. I will do my best to see everyone at conferences, but because they are often scheduled at the same time, I may miss a few here or there. I will prioritize conferences based on need.
It has been a wild beginning to 2022. I know many students are being asked to stay home due to illness right now. If they need help working on their school work provided by their classroom teacher, or for any other reason. Students may sign on to my zoom anytime between 8:00am and 3:00pm throughout the month of January and they can get some or a lesson in their areas of specially designed instruction.
I cannot believe we are almost to winter break! There has been a lot of hard work in academic adaptive over the last few months we are proud of the progress our students have made.
One of our classroom goals for this school year is to be confident about counting money. To that end, student have been earning "money" (realistic plastic coins and dollar bills) during their daily group learning times. At the end of every week we practice counting the money and use it to purchase items from the student store. Some of your amazing kiddos are even practicing budgeting and saving for some of the more desirable items on the board.
In addition to all the hard work we've been doing, students who have writing goals have also been writing letters to visitors in our class. We wrote to a visiting turkey in November and December has brought the opportunity to write to an elf who keeps leaving us silly and fun surprises in our classroom. What will she come up with next?
