Each year, all Madison students read books from the Illinois Readers' Choice Award list (known as the Monarch Award). As classes read nominees, a book cover is added to their class butterfly.

Throughout the year, LIT (Literacy, Information & Technology) classes listen to some of these selected books both in their classrooms and in the library.

This year, voting will take place in March, during LIT classes. Students will also play Monarch Bingo to celebrate voting for this award.
