Watch Live Musical Performance at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

As a part of their training in drama performance, the Drama Club visited the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) on 15 October 2022 to view Heathers the Musical. The show is a black comedy based on a 1980s film and covers important themes like bullying, teen suicide and school violence.

Students were hooked into the story and were impressed with the exuberant songs and dance numbers. They were especially inspired by how the actors embodied their characters through speech, songs and body language.  Overall, students were greatly impacted by the show’s messages of self-love, showing empathy to others, standing up to bullies and evaluating the quality of friendships. Thanks to this experience, students' are buzzing with excitement about their own upcoming performances.

Radio Podcast with RTHK

Four students, Gloria Kam (5D), Kiki Phan (5D), Anson Yeung (5D) and Jacky Chan (5D), participated in a recording session for RTHK Radio 3 ‘Open Space’ on 20 September 2022. The students selected the topic ‘Arguments with Parents’. Thanks to the expert guidance of RTHK Radio Presenter and host Ms Alyson Hau, the students were able to conquer their shyness and express their ideas confidently. They shared their views on the importance of arguments, why we should keep calm during a disagreement and how parents and children can learn from each other through arguing. This was an amazing opportunity for students to interact with a professional DJ, develop interview skills and use English in a natural way.

Tune in to RTHK Radio 3 to on 6 October 2022 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to catch our episode.
