Warner Brother's Music Group is a leading multinational entertainment and record label located in New York City. As one of the " big three" recording companies, alongside Universal Music Group and Sony Music Group, WMG plays a pivotal role in the global music industry.
History And Evolution:
Established in 1958 as the recorded music division of Warner Bros. Pictures, WMG has undergone significant transformations over the decades. In 2004, to reduce debt from the AOL merger, Time Warner sold WMG to a group of private investors leg by Edgar Bronfmsn Jr. The comanpy went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005, was privatised in 2011 after its sale to Access Industry and returned to the public market with a Nasdaw listing in 2020.

Warner Records: Orginally founded as Warner Bros. Recorded in 1958, it was rebranded to Warner Records in 2019. This change marked a new era for the label, highlighting its evolution and new modern identity.
Atlantic Records: Established in 1947, Atlantic has been instremental in shaping the careers of numerous artists across various genres, from rhythm and blues to rock and pop.
Elektra Records: Founded in 1950, Elektra became knwon for its diverse roster, including influenctial artists in folk, rock and alternative msuic.
Parlophone Records: Accquired from EMI in 2013, Parlophone boasts a rich history with iconic British acts, further expanding WMG's global footprints.
Reprise Records: Founded by Frank Sinatra in 1960 and later accquired by WMG, reprise has been home to legendary artists like Neil Young and Eric Clapton.
Robert Kyncl is an entrepreneurial leader and a pioneer in the creator company. He became CEO of Warner Music Group in January 2023 after a 12 year tenture at YouTube, where he played a key role in shaping strategy, overseeing partnerships and expanding YouTube's creator and subscription services, including YouTube Music, Premium and Tv. Before YouTube, he spent servern years at Netflix, helping launch its streaming services in 2007. He started his carrer in a talent agency mailroom, later warking at HBO international and a Kids' entertainment startup. Knycl and his wife run a foundation supporting underrepresented STEM students and he co-authored Streampunks: YouTube and The Rebels Remarking Media. He holds an MBA from Pepperdine University and a BS in international Relations from SUNY New paltz.
