1st Analysis NEA TASK 3 Bruno Mars Just the way you are. I chose to analyse this music video because I found it unique compared to other ballads. It has a mix of animation and live action camera shots which I think Bruno Mars' team utilises perfectly.
The song I am going to choose for my music video is: Talking to the Moon by Bruno. I've chosen this song from the album called 'Doo Wops, and Hooligans' and has general theme I am able to stick to easily. The song has a hopeful but also a sort of sad vibe to it and the premise is 2 lovers trying to communicate with usage of the moon.

The artist of this track is Bruno Mars, who is a current famous modern ballad writer in his music, his music generally explores themes of love in positive and negative ways. Bruno Mars or Peter Gene Hernandez was born on October 8th 1985 with an already burning passion for music. He had taught himself to play the piano, guitar, and bass as a young teenager and after high school he moved to California to pursue music. Bruno Mars currently has 4 studio albums: 'Doo Wops and Hooligans', 'Unorthodox Jukebox', '24K Magic', and 'An Evening with Silk Sonic which has earned him 16 grammys.
Bruno Mars' amazing catalogue of music is shown the music videos for these two songs: 'When I Was Your Man', and 'Die With A Smile' as they show juxtaposing sides of love. With 'WIWYM' One of Bruno's most popular songs. It was released 13 years ago and Mars says its his "The most honest thing I've ever sang" Mars was nervous about the release of the song as it showed his vulnerable side and true feelings but it ended up being his most popular song. You have Bruno Mars conveying a story of a man who regrets his decisions in a relationship but in the end Mars ends on a hopeful note saying that he hopes her new partner does all the things he didn't do when he was her man. On the other hand, 'Die with a smile' which is a song that only features Bruno Mars was said to be heavily inspired by the 1970s and collaborations between Carole King and James Taylor according to Lady Gaga. The songs presents a feeling of love which surpasses the depressing feeling of death and how they would "Die with a smile" If dying with each other.
