'Warner Music Group' is an American record label conglomerate, their labels consisting of: Atlantic Records, Elektra Records, Parlophone Records, Reprise Records, and Warner Records.

Back in 1958, one of the contracted actors of Warner Bros. film studio recorded a hit song for a division of their rival company, Paramount Pictures. To prevent this from happening again, Warner Bros. Records was formed, and this also allowed Warner Bros. to take advantage of the money created by the music industry. Over time, Warner Bros. has collected more labels, allowing them to form 'Warner Music Group'.

Their most recognisable artists are: Arctic Monkeys, Bruno Mars, Coldplay, David Bowie, Ed Sheeran, Queen, and Frank Sinatra.

Music Video Analysis

Oklahoma Smokeshow - Zach Bryan

The music video for 'Oklahoma Smokeshow' begins with an establishing shot of a truck appearing over a hill. It then switches to the camera panning around a group of men sat in the back of the truck, with two staring at each other, establishing a prior conflict between them. The next scene shows these two fighting, with a girl needing to break it up. The rest of the music video portrays her increasingly positive relationship with one man, and increasingly negative relationship with the other. This music video has a narrative.

There is use of mood lighting - the lighting is warm during the happy scenes, then cold and dark in the sad scenes.

The music is non-diegetic throughout the video.

Beautiful Things - Benson Boone

The music video for 'Beautiful Things' begins with establishing shots of a desert at sunrise, with text showing the artist's name and the song title. During the build up to the first chorus the band is shown taking their equipment through the desert. Once the chorus begins it cuts to the band playing and singing. The rest of the music video cuts between the band and Benson Boone walking through the desert singing. The music video ends with a shot of Benson Boone, zooming out from a mid shot to a wide shot. This msuic video does not have a narrative.

The music video uses natural lighting throughout.

The music is non-diegetic during the build up to the first chorus, but becomes diegetic once the chorus begins and stays diegetic for the rest of the video.

The Door - Teddy Swims

The music video for 'The Door' begins with an establishing shot of Teddy Swims and a woman opposite each other sat at a table, on a checkered floor. The rest of the music video regularly cuts between shots of Teddy Swims singing in different environments, and of the woman lying on the floor. The music video ends with a shot of the woman at the end of a hall, with the camera spinning. This music video does not have a narrative.

There is a range of unnatural lighting used throughout: movement of light, flashing, dramatic lighting, warm and cool lighting.

The music is diegetic throughout the whole video.
