Techathat (Benson) Lahib

A government scholarship student from 2008 - 2013 and graduated with First Class Honours in English Language Teaching, I am currently doing my Master Degree in English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistic at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).

As an English language teacher, I was attracted to an academic career because of a strong desire to teach the next generation to be able to communicate in English.

I have been working at Suankuarb Wittayalai Thonburi school since November 2013, in this academic year, 2021, I am teaching English for Tourism 1 and 2 (EN30213 and EN30214) and English for Basic Business Communication 1 and 2 (EN30229 and EN30230) for a regular program. In addition, I am co-teacher for General English for Year 8 students in International Program.

My approach to teaching is based on the Communicative Approach, I always design my lesson to allow the students to use English in a different situations to communicate among their friends. I personally do believe in Collaborative Learning Approach, and with the advance of technology nowadays by collaborating with Google for Education, my class is more enjoyable.

I use Google Slide, Google Docs' Share function to promote collaboration and monitor the students in their teams while giving advice or feedback instantly via the chat or comment box. And since the listening activity is very important for English language learners, in the past listening activities, were not easy to do especially in Thai School because of the lack of classroom facilities such as computers and good speakers but now I do assign listening tasks as often as I can via Google Form and automatically get the statistic results once the students have completed their tasks. Therefore, I could use the results I have to develop my teaching methods and support the students as a whole class and individually.
