I grew up in York, Pa and was a member of St. Joseph Church throughout my childhood years. I graduated from Penn State with a degree in French education. I eventually became an ESL teacher and worked at Central York School District for 15 years with very diverse groups of learners from all around the globe. My husband and I raised our family of six children, and we are now are the proud grandparents of five! Throughout all of these years, I have had the wonderful blessing of teaching Religious Education at St. Patrick Church in York. Last year, I made the huge switch to Catholic Education and it has been a complete joy and wonderful change in my life.
As a religion teacher, I hope to help each student understand the Catholic faith more fully and to increase their hunger for closeness to God.
I believe that students should be able to relate classroom lessons to their own lives.
I believe that students should be challenged with interesting and rigorous instruction.
I believe that students should feels safe and valued in my classroom.
I believe each student is unique and wonderfully made, with learning strengths. They are all capable of learning and loving God. We will work together to make all children successful learners.
I show my students respect and I expect their respect in return. This creates a great learning atmosphere.
