Saint Augustine

Facts You Should Know:

1.   St. Augustine was born on the 13th November 354 AD and died on the 28th August 420 AD.

2.  . St. Augustine was born in Algeria and was the son of St. Monica (patron saint of difficult marriages, disappointing children and victims of verbal abuse)

3.  He was raised in an inter-faith home:  Saint Monica (his mother) was Christian and his father was pagan.

4.  Saint Augustine struggled with immoral actions and thoughts.  

5.   He didn't become a Christian until he was in his 40s. 

6.  He became a Doctor of the Church-  he was an expert in Latin.  His writings continue to inspire the faith of others.
