About Me
Hello! My name is Gerri Thoman, and I am so excited to be teaching again!
I am originally from Long Island, NY. I came to York, PA to attend York College where I earned my elementary teaching degree and went on to receive a master’s degree from Penn State. I was a second-grade teacher at York Suburban until resigning to stay home and raise my 5 children, Matthew 25, Jillian 23, Lexi 21, Ava (9th grade at York Catholic), and Michael (7th grade at York Catholic). My husband and I enjoy walking, watching movies, attending our children’s sporting events, and spending time with the family.
Please know I am here for you. If you ever have a question or concern, please don’t hesitate to email or call.
Classroom Philosophy
Every child should be cherished, as they are a gift from God.
Teach in a way that fosters a love of learning.
Keep children actively engaged in the classroom by allowing them to use their whole bodies as much as possible.
Meet each child where they are and challenge them to reach their fullest potential.
Teaching in a Catholic setting is both a responsibility and a privilege. It allows me to contribute to the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social growth of my students. I look forward to working with you and your children.
