This page is for certain strategies we have been using in school that may make homework easier to do at home!

Math adding 2 or more two-digit numbers

Start by drawing a line between the tens and the ones colum and labeling each column

step 1: add the ones 

step 2: regroup if you need to

step 3: add the tens column 

Math subtracting numbers 

step 1: Can you subtract the ones? (is the number on top bigger than the number underneath)

step 2: If the number on top is bigger (in the ones colum) subtract, if the number on top is smaller regroup.

step 3: Regroup (if needed)

step 4: Subtract the tens
