My name is Andrea Negrete. This is my 9th year teaching here at WGMS. I teach 4 periods of Math 6 and 1 period of Math Lab 6.

I have lived in the San Jose area my whole life. I graduated from Santa Clara University in 2013 with a B.S. in Psychology with minors in Mathematics and Urban Education. I stayed at Santa Clara an extra year to also earn my Master's Degree in Teaching and my Teaching Credential.

I have wanted to be a middle school math teacher since I was in middle school myself. I love my job and I love getting to know the students in my classroom even more. I believe that if students enjoy a subject, they are much more likely to learn it. In my classroom, I like to show students that learning can be fun, but also that the real learning happens when we are comfortable with making mistakes. Not everyone gets things right on the first try.
