Welcome to first grade! I look forward to being your child's first grade teacher. It will be a fun year of learning and working together.
I will be starting my 9th year at Williams. I was the intervention specialist for 6 years and enjoyed working with all grade levels. This will be my third year teaching first grade. I have been with the district for over 30 years and have taught at Grant, Los Alamitos, and Simonds. I have a BA in psychology from UCLA and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. In addition, I attended the University of Santa Clara and received my special education credential and masters in special education. I have taught students with learning disabilities in a special day class and also spent 12 years teaching second grade at Simonds.
I have two daughters that went to Los Alamitos, Simonds, Castillero, and Leland. My oldest daughter graduated from UCSB and is working in PR and my youngest daughter recently graduated from Amherst College and is working on her masters degree in biology at the University of Maryland. I've enjoyed being a part of the Almaden community and going to lots of softball games and Leland speech and debate tournaments.
In my free time, I love traveling, reading, cooking, and hiking with my husband.
I believe all students can succeed and my goal is to help your child develop a positive growth mindset and become an enthusiastic lifelong learner.
Please don't hesitate to contact me whenever you have questions.
