Dr. Ramos received a Faculty Merit Award for Teaching.
Dr. Ramos gave a contributed talk and along with two students, gave 4 poster presentations at the APS March Meeting in Minneapolis, MN,
FALL 2023
During American Education Week, Dr. Ramos received a $35,000 award (as PI) from Constellation for the Physics Girls Camp and his renewable energy initiatives at SJU and $50,000 (as co-PI) from Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals to sustain the J&J STEM Equity Summer Research Program.
Dr. Ramos was keynote speaker in Nanohub's Webinar Series on Nanotechnology, featuring "Adventures in the Quantum World: Sharing Experiences with Quantum Materials and Quantum Computing".
Dr. Ramos gave a Seminar on "Strategies to Spark Interest in STEM" at the National Institute of Science and Math Education, University of the Philippines (UP NISMED).
SPRING 2023
Dr. Ramos received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching during the 2023 SJU Commencement Ceremonies.
Dr. Ramos received two Faculty Merit Awards, for Service and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
At the APS March Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Ramos and research student Dan Fauni gave a talk and two research posters (on superconductivity and solar energy).
Dr. Ramos organized the SPS Zone 3 Meeting in Lycoming College (Williamsport, PA) with a record attendance of over 70 physics majors from over 12 universities from Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey.
Fall 2022
Dr. Ramos organized a Physics Storytelling Poster Showcase Event: Women and Minorities in Physics.
Dr. Ramos received a $35,818 award (as PI) from Constellation - the largest green energy producer in the US, for the Physics Girls Camp and renewable energy research and $50,000 (as co-PI) from Janssen Pharmaceuticals to establish a Janssen STEM Equity Summer Research Program. He is quoted in Constellation's Press Release.
Dr. Ramos gave a Physics Colloquium on "Probing Quantum Coherence and Entanglement in Josephson Junction Phase Qubits" at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines.
Spring 2022
Dr. Ramos was awarded tenure and promoted to full Professor.
Dr. Ramos received the 2022 William F. Homiller Award for Teaching Excellence.
Dr. Ramos and physics majors Dan Fauni and Kayla Dickert presented two talks and three posters at the 2022 APS March Meeting in Chicago. Both Dan and Kayla applied for and received $300 SPS Conference Travel Awards.
Dr. Ramos gave a talk and a poster at the Winter Meeting of the AAPT - American Association of Physics Teachers.
Spring 2021
Dr. Ramos gave an invited webinar on "New Pedagogies in Physics Teaching" to 350 physics teachers in the Philippines.
Dr. Ramos and three physics majors presented five papers at the APS March Meeting.
Winter 2021
Dr. Ramos is awarded 2nd Place in the 2021 Greater Philadelphia Social Innovators Awards (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the category of Community Impact).
Dr. Ramos received $30,000 in funding from Constellation.

Dr. Ramos gave an invited physics seminar on "High-Resolution Quantum Tunneling Spectroscopy of a Multi-Gap Superconductor" at the Bothell campus of the University of Washington.
Summer 2020
Dr. Ramos gave an invited physics seminar on "Probing Matter using Superconductors" at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.
Dr. Ramos presented a talk and poster at the 2020 AAPT Summer Meeting and Phil-American Academy of Science and Engineering.
Dr, Ramos was STEM Faculty Coordinator for STEM Research Explorations in collaboration with The Franklin Institute and Ed Snyder Hockey Foundation
Dr. Ramos gave a webinar on "Promoting STEM Among Girls" to over 90 STEM teachers and K-12 administrators in the Philippines via Zoom.
Spring 2020
Dr. Ramos was featured on WHYY's The Pulse (an NPR and PBS member station) on the topic "The Science of Being Cool" His segment starts at 5:14.
Dr. Ramos was featured in a video interview with the Council of Undergraduate Research on how USciences' Undergraduate Research Week was transformed into a successful Virtual Research Festival during this period of COVID-19 crisis.
Dr. Ramos's APS March Meeting talk was featured in AAAS' EurekAlert News Release.
Fall 2019
In November 2019, Dr. Ramos received a $30,000 grant from Constellation - an Exelon energy company, to "improve education in our community and inspire students to think differently about energy."
Dr. Ramos's "Physics Wonder Girls Program" is featured in a nationally-circulated grant award video of Constellation - an Exelon company. The camp was also featured on a segment of Philadelphia's NBC News.
