Click on the map link or view the embedded map. If it appears small, click the “View larger map” option to open it in full screen.
2. Familiarize Yourself with the Layout
Look at the map legend on the left side for a list of buildings. Identify symbols or colors that represent accessibility features such as: Ramps, elevators, entrances, and restrooms.
3. Search for a Location
Use the search bar at the top of the map. Type the name of a building or location (e.g., “Library” or “Hagen Arena”).

Access SJU works to promote accessibility, equity, and inclusion across campus by developing an interactive accessibility map that identifies and addresses campus access needs, raises awareness, shares resources, and uplifts the experiences of students of all abilities. Our goal is to create a campus environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Are there places on campus that feel accessible or inaccessible?
“Sidewalks with ramps are accessible, but at times I see a bicycle parked on the end of the ramp blocking the sidewalk and I could imagine if someone in a wheelchair or maybe a large person could not access the sidewalk.”
What does accessibility mean to you?
“Accessibility is an ease of access to what I need to maintain my equity with others in my environment.”
Can you describe your overall experience navigating accessibility?
“Lots of places on campus: sidewalks, roads, parking lots, are well maintained and that is important for physical accessibility; which is noticed especially in the event of snow and ice on the ground.”
Our event will promote accessibility on campus and bring together the Hawk Hill community and students for some fun, food, and games. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, on our Hawk Hill Campus 12:30-1:45. Join us!
