To join the conversation fully within your graduate field of study, you should start to consider submitting your written work for publication and/or presenting your work at academic/professional conferences. Taking these steps can feel daunting, but they allow you to put your research out there and--in the case of conferences--learn from other experts in your field. Conferences are typically hosted by professional organizations within the field. They invite proposals for presentations, and you can submit either on your own or with a small group.
