 About

WOW! That's Engineering is a conference that invites high school girls to learn about STEM and prepare for college through a variety of unique, engaging events, such as workshops, keynotes, and socials. We hope that the attendees leave with a new perspective about the engineering industry, and view it under a positive light that it is a creative and booming field.

Companies participating: Johnson & Johnson, Nokia, STEMFrom, and more!

Breakfast and lunch will be provided!

Registration fee: $15

  Engineering Design Challenge

Here is this year's Engineering Design Challenge prompt:


Build a device using the least amount of materials possible that can pick up a ping pong ball from the start line and transport it to the finish line with the shortest time.


Students will work in small groups for one hour to produce a final device that will be judged by representatives from various companies for the opportunity to win prizes. Materials will be provided.

 

 

Keynote Speaker

Rashmi Shamprasad

Engineering Manager, Data and Insights, Netflix

 Rashmi Shamprasad is a passionate advocate for data with a modest yet impactful journey in technology. With over 18 years of experience, her career spans both software engineering and data engineering at companies in a broad spectrum of domains including Netflix, PayPal, and eBay.  Rashmi currently leads a team of data engineers at Netflix and is known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to fostering a culture of mentorship and growth within her teams. A strong believer in lifelong learning and growth, she has a Master's in Computer Applications and a Bachelor's in Commerce.
