Dr. Jess Whatcott (they/them) is a teacher, writer and organizer based in San Diego, California (Kumeyaay land), working towards carceral abolition, disability justice, queer and trans liberation, and a world without borders. Their forthcoming book is Menace to the Future: A Disability and queer history of carceral eugenics (Duke, 2024).

Planned Parenthood Gen Action (PPGA) will transform the lobby into a feminist haunted house! Rosanna Alvarez from Chicana and Chicano Studies will lead a screening and discussion of Jayro Bustamante’s 2019 La Llorona. Johanna Isaacson, author of Stepford Daughters: Weapons for Feminists in Contemporary Horror, will give the keynote address and stay as a judge for a student feminist horror film trailer competition.
