All undergraduate students (including transfer students) must complete the following steps before meeting with an advisor.

Step 1: Learn about the requirements

Visit the Spanish Major or Spanish Minor page to learn about the requirements for the major or minor.

Step 2: Determine which course to start in

Email world-languages@sjsu.edu to request to take the Spanish language placement.

Step 3: Start paperwork

Gather PDF files of your current unofficial SJSU Transcript and a What-if Report for your requested major or minor and meet with an advisor during advising office hours.

Please have the following items ready when you speak with an advisor:

• Copy of unofficial transcript (How to view unofficial transcript)
