SJSU Grad Slam Application
Before applying, you will need to have the following:
An abstract in which you describe your research in 300 words or fewer
Please describe the research and/or creative project that you plan to present in terms understandable to an audience outside your field.
How does your work contribute to your field?
Identify the faculty member responsible for supervising your research or creative work or the graduate advisor for your program.
If you are selected as a semifinalist:
Attend public speaking coaching sessions (optional).
Create a video of you presenting your research, including your single slide (helpful technical tips will be provided to semifinalists). Arrange a date and time for professional filming session with videographer via Zoom in early April
Submit final version of your video presentation to the College of Graduate Studies by April 16, 2021. Submission instructions will be provided to you by the College of Graduate Studies.
