SJSU Grad Slam Application
Before applying, you will need to have the following:
An abstract in which you describe your research in 300 words or fewer
Please describe the research and/or creative project that you plan to present in terms understandable to an audience outside your field.
How does your work contribute to your field?
Identify the faculty member responsible for supervising your research or creative work or the graduate advisor for your program.
If you are selected as a semifinalist:
Attend public speaking coaching sessions (optional).
Create a video of you presenting your research, including your single slide (helpful technical tips will be provided to semifinalists) with our videographer.
Finalists will be selected by the judges based oh the video presentations.
If you are selected as a finalist:
You will attend the live in-person Grad Slam competition on April 14, 2022.

Notification of advancement to semifinals will be emailed to students on a rolling basis as applications are submitted and approved
