Introduction
Hello there! My name is Ramara Rubin, the CLA Student Representative! I'm here to be a bridge between you and the resources, opportunities, and support you need to make the most of library school. Whether you're looking for scholarships, want to get involved, or just need someone to talk to who gets it, I’ve got you!
Let’s connect, collaborate, and make this MLIS journey easier to navigate (and a lot more fun). Feel free to reach out anytime—I’m just an email or Zoom call away!
Student Representative Statement
As a first-year San Jose State University graduate student with over four years in public service and two years as a Library Assistant at the City of Inglewood Public Library, I have gained a thorough understanding of library operations and a solid commitment to community engagement. Drawing from my background, I understand the significance of advocating for professional development. As a CLA Student Representative nominee, I aim to foster connections between MLIS students and library professionals, emphasize the importance of community empowerment and literacy, and encourage them to become influential leaders and valuable team members of tomorrow.
