Welcome to Ss. Peter and Paul After School Program! Our priority is to provide a faithful, safe, fun, and healthy environment for your child.  

The program will begin August 26th, directly after school and will run until 5:30 PM. The program is being housed in the gym. Students will not have access their classrooms during After School hours. The students are responsible for their items and should bring everything with them, just as they would if they were leaving the school.  

Students may NOT sign themselves out to leave campus for after school activities. A parent/guardian/adult, must sign each child out daily. This is to keep our students safe and keeps us in compliance with the guidelines of our daycare license. 

We are looking at having 3 locations for students this year. The gym, classroom, and lunchroom. Your child will report to the same location weekly and will have a permanent place to put his/her items making it easier for parents and students to find personal items.  

A tentative schedule is listed below and is subject to change on a day-to- day basis dependent on weather, field trips and student/teacher ratio.  

3:00 Arrival / Check in / Prayer and discuss the day’s agenda  

3:05 Lunchroom group washes and snacks and then goes to recess 

3:10 Classroom group washes and snacks and then goes to recess 

3:15 Gym group washes and snacks and then goes to recess 

3:45 Groups return to their designated areas for Homework/Quiet read time (Kindergartners will be read to) 

4:00 Quiet choice time  

4:45 Clean up and all groups meet in the gym 

4:50 Group game 

5:10 Open gym time 

5:30 Close (families that are repeatedly late will incur additional fees) 

We will be providing healthy snacks for your child. Alternative snacks will be offered to those with allergies. 

Homework and quiet time will be held daily and your child will be encouraged to read if they do not have homework or do an alternative quiet activity (puzzle, flash cards, whisper read to a younger child). We will give assistance to students needing help with their homework, but please do not mistake this for a tutor session. If your child is struggling, they should speak with their teacher during school hours.  

Learning activities, games, crafts, or library activities will be organized and guided by the staff.  

If you know your child will not be here, please contact the school office (224-7185), by 11:00 AM that day.  

The After School Program website can be found on the St. Joseph School webpage and will be updated weekly containing snack information as well as large group or guided activities. A copy of the Handbook can be found the St. Joseph School website under the ASP tab.  

Payment of $140 is due by the fifth of the month. An additional payment of $25 will be required to attend early release days and Christmas break will cost an additional $120/child. The program is closed on Federal holidays and over Easter break.  

The After School Program is a licensed daycare center requiring us to follow state regulations such as: 

1. A student file must be kept for each participant containing the following documents:  

• A completed "Emergency Contact Form". 

• A signed consent form allowing staff to give emergency medical treatment if necessary. 

• A signed "Provider/Parent/Guardian Child Care Agreement" 

• A signed "Medication Authorization Form" if necessary for your child. 

  2. A Student/Teacher ratio of one teacher for each fifteen students. 

  3. A weekly record of each child's sign in and sign out information. You   MUST sign your child out each day. Staff will sign children in each day upon entering the room.
