Assignment Books are used for:
Recording daily agenda, homework, and important notes
Communicating behavior daily
Recording reading minutes each night
Parent signature required each night
Teachers will note both positive highlights and areas for growth.
Kids of Christ Core Expectations and Behaviors
All students are expected to show Christ-like character by:
Greeting others with kindness and warmth.
Using manners in all situations.

Kids of Christ Pledge
Recited daily to remind students of their commitment:
Because I am a Kid of Christ,
I pledge today to do my best
in reading, math, and all the rest!
I promise to obey the rules
in my class and in the school.
I will look for opportunities to be a bucket filler
and will respect the students’ Circles of Grace
because I know God is present there.
I’ll expect the best in all I do.

Behavior Correction Process
Gentle Redirection and Verbal Warning
A non-verbal cue and/or a verbal reminder will be used to get the student back on track. The expectation will be stated kindly but firmly.
Assignment Book Comment
If a student continues undesirable behavior after warning, a note will be made in the student’s assignment book.
Must be checked and signed by a parent.
Consequences could follow depending on behavior. (See potential consequences list)
Parent Email Follow-up and Consequences
If a behavior is repeated and concerning, parents will be emailed.
Consequences will follow depending on behavior. (See potential consequences list)
Student Phone Call Home (during school)
If behavior persists or escalates, student will call a parent to explain the situation directly.

Admin Involvement (if necessary)
Reserved for severe or repeated issues, after parent communication steps are followed.

lose the privilege of sitting with friends at lunch or during a fun activity

lose the chance to do any extra fun activity the class is doing
sent in the hallway to think or work
last in line for activities
