Religion: 

We will learn about all the mysteries of the rosary.

Virtue: Responsibility

Memory Verse: Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." 

Social Studies: 

This week we will begin learning about the Roman Empire.

Science:

Students will finish their final projects: making a chain reaction machine with a group. Please see the email for your time to come view their machines.

Math:

We're going to study patterns in multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000 to help us solve more complex multiplication problems in the future.

To help make learning 4th grade math concepts a little easier, I’d like students to build confidence with their multiplication facts. During the first month or so of school, students will be asked to practice their multiplication facts each week. We will spend some time practicing in class, but the majority of the practice should be completed at home. Regular practice will help students become more fluent with their facts and feel more confident as we move into more challenging math concepts. 

Language Arts:  

We will continue our new novel, Wish, Barbara O'Connor

We will focus on writing complex sentences. 

We will continue our unit on writing a narrative.

*This year, students will participate in our Reading Passport Adventure! Instead of traditional reading logs, students will complete monthly reading challenges, explore different genres, and earn stamps or stickers in their Reading Passports. Students will also complete brief book check-ins to share ratings, recommendations, and favorite parts of books they have finished. As a class, we will work together toward reading goals and celebrate our progress throughout the year.

*If you would like to come to lunch, please call the office before noon the day before.  We will only be accepting 7 visitors for each lunch due to space.
