Mar. 13 - End of 3rd Quarter
During Lent, we'll focus on fasting, prayer and almsgiving.
This week's memory verse: 2 Timothy1:7 “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
This week's virtue: self-control
This week we will begin learning about United States Geography
Scientists will learn about eye sight next.
While learning about animal and human bodies, we are also going to participate in March Mammal Madness. We'll learn about different mammals (body types, adaptations, etc) and use that information to fill out a bracket on who they think would win in if those animals had a "face off".
We'll discuss tenths and hundredths in both fraction and decimal forms.
Math Game: Softball Hits
Math Homework
Students can play the math game of the week at home with a family member. All games require very few materials: mostly dice or a deck of cards. If there is a game board (piece of paper), the students can bring that back to me completed so I can see it's been done, OR it can just be written in their assignment books that the math game has been complete.
The second option is on the computer: Zearn or Khan Academy. If you choose the computer option, the requirement is 30 minutes per week. Again, these math homework minutes can be written in the assignment book.
The third option is paper homework: this would be similar worksheets to what we complete in class. Again, if you choose this option, please ensure your child completes roughly 30 minutes each week.
Let me know if you have any questions about this!
We will be starting our informative writing unit
We will be learning about prepositions in grammar.
We will continue our novel, The Watsons go to Birmingham.
