Pre-K and Kindergarten learn greetings such as hola and adios, the colors, their letters in Spanish along with vocabulary, numbers to 10, and more. We learn a few songs and dance along.
Introductions and rules on first day. The students will learn The Hola song that includes buenos días (good morning), buenas tardes (good afternoon), and buenas noches (good night) and the dance that goes with the song. They will also color pictures to associate all of the vocabulary. The introduction of colors, letters using sign language, examples of Spanish words that go with the letter sound, and finally the Adios song with a little jig.
The children will continue with the Hola song, Adios song, and learning the letters and colors. We will also begin answering questions like: Como te llamas? and Como estas? We use sign language to go with each color as we sing our colors song (los colores). In the month of September, We will learn red/rojo, blue/azul, yellow/amarillo, and green/verde.
We will also discuss Hispanic Heritage month briefly and color a page.
We will continue with our colors, letters and sounds in Spanish. The colors we will cover this month are black/negro, white/blanco, purple/morado o púrpura, brown/café o marrón.
