Elementary Visual Arts

Description:

K-6 Visual Arts classes enable students to explore the many areas of the visual arts. Students will explore “Art as Communication” through: Subject Matter and Theme; Historical and Cultural Contexts; Using Knowledge of Structures and Functions; Understanding and Applying Media Techniques, Craftsmanship and Processes; and Evaluating merits of Personal and shared artwork. Using these techniques focused on higher level thinking skills will give elementary age students a solid foundation of art techniques and processes and will foster a life long appreciation for art.
