We are not able to have this program without adult support! If you have a student in this program, please consider helping mentor them throughout meetings. This includes sitting with them during meetings, helping them through activities, keeping them focused, and helping them have a great time! Y5 Students are very excited to do everything, so having adults who can help keep them on track will be very helpful.
In the 2023-2024 arts inspired FIRST LEGO League MASTERPIECE season, we will learn the roles our science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills play in the arts and design a world of endless possibilities. Our skills make it possible to create art and experiences that bring us together, entertain us, and move us. The future is yours to create! MASTERPIECE is the FIRST LEGO League challenge that is part of the overarching FIRST® IN SHOW presented by Qualcomm season.
We will have regular meetings each Wednesday at the same time. We will not have meetings the week of Thanksgiving. Tentative end date is the last Wednesday before Winter Break.
Wednesday, October 11th
6pm - 7pm
We will have either one team of Tiny Joes, and possibly two teams. (This will vary based on registration numbers, Co-Coach availability, etc. )
If we have two teams, students will be assigned either Tiny Joe Banana or Tiny Joes Blueberry.
Please sign up officially here. The Participation Fee is $40 that will be available shortly via RevTrak, and each student will receive a Discover More Family Engagement set.
Families who participate together in FIRST LEGO League discover the power of curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving, building the foundation for life-long confidence in STEM learning. Bring the learning (and fun) home with our Discover More Family Engagement Sets, so caregivers can experience learning through play with their children. The Discover More game and LEGO Six Bricks activities help to bridge and reinforce learning that takes place at home and at school. See all the sessions here!
Class packs include the curriculum resources educators and facilitators need to lead early learners through 10 sessions that explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through play using the LEGO® Education STEAM Park Set. MASTERPIECESM season materials help students imagine and innovate new ways to create and communicate art across the globe. Morgan (me) will help facilitate and run each meeting utilizing the Team Meeting Guide.
For all FIRST Programs at SJPS, we send out weekly updates to families. At this time, I do not forsee a lot of needs for updates as this program is much less involved than our other ones we offer. Weekly updates will be sent out as needed, but please do not hesitate to contact me if more information needs to be communicated!
