Rules and Regulations
1. Race Category: The marathon consists of the following categories:
Category I: The 15k race which is open to all.
Category II: A 5k race category race in which the participants must be
· Within the age groups of 15 years and under,
· 15 to 45 years
· 45 years and older
Category III: 2k Fun Run/Walk which is open to all.
a) Only individual entries for, 15K, 5K, and 2K Fun Run/Walk categories shall be accepted.
b) You must run in the category you have applied for and were confirmed in. Running in a different category won't give you the benefits in the race.
c) Participants who are below 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult runner.
d) Spot entry will not be entertained.
e) The organizers reserve the right to ban any participants, if they are found to be abusive and behave rudely with the organizers / volunteers /vendors /third-party contractors during the event.
2. Age Consideration: Age will be determined as on December 3, 2023. Prize winners might need to furnish additional proof of their identity and age, as requested by the event organizers, to receive their prize money. If the necessary documentation is not provided, the organizers reserve the right to withhold the prize money or disqualify the participant at their discretion.
3. Registration: Post registration, a confirmation email will be sent to all the confirmed participants who have provided a valid email address in their application forms. If you do not receive any communication from the race office, kindly reach out to us via email at alumni@sjec.ac.in.
4. Non-Transferable Entry nor Refundable: Your entry and running BIB cannot be given to or used by someone else, no exceptions. Requests for participation cancellation, and thereby refund, will not be entertained.
5. BIBS: Your running BIB will be assigned to you. Any tampering, exchange, or misuse of them will disqualify you from the race. Further, every runner must wear his/her race BIB on the front of the vest. Any mutilation, fold, alteration, or damage to the BIB will account to the disqualification of the runner from the event.
6. Access to Venue: On the race day, only registered participants with valid BIB number and event crew members are allowed inside the event venue.
7. Start Time: You must start your run at the specified time; late starters won't get results or certificates.
8. Check Points: When you run the race, make sure to pass through all the check post located at specific points on the course. This is in addition to the check post at the start and end point. If you miss running through all the Check Post, your race timings and rankings won't be generated. Your performance will be considered incomplete, and you won't be eligible for rankings or prize money winnings.
9. Road Reopening: Roads will be open for traffic at 8:30 AM. If you can't finish the race by then, use the footpath to complete the race.
NOTE: After 8:30 AM there will be partial traffic in many places and thereafter full traffic will be open. Any participant running with the event bib after 8:30 AM will be lifted off the course on our vehicles. This is being done for the safety of the participants and under orders of the local law authorities.
10. Medical Disqualification: The event organizers can stop you from the race, if you are deemed medically unfit.
11. Self-Awareness: Assess your health to ensure you can participate safely. The event promoter is not responsible for any medical issues related to your participation.
12. Photographs: Photos taken may be used to promote the event in the future.
13. No Pets or Unregistered Runners: You cannot run with pets, unregistered runners, babies, or under-aged children. No wheeled vehicles are allowed on the course. Anyone bringing wheeled vehicles will be disqualified from the race and asked to leave the course.
14. No Weapons or Drugs: Carrying weapons, drugs, or substances is prohibited.
15. Consequences for Non-Compliance: No result or certificate will be given to runners who do not start their run at the respective start time of the race category they have been confirmed in.
16. Finisher Medals: All the finishers of 15k and 5k Run categories will receive a Finisher Medal post their run. Note that, the finishers of 2k Fun Run will not be receiving any medal. The medals will not be posted to any individual runners. Please be considerate at the Finish Line. Avoid standing there for photos or waiting for your fellow runners. Others need to cross the finish line too and strive for their personal best. Once you've crossed the Finish Line, you can't re-enter the course during the race. Whether you have your running bib or not, trying to re-enter may result in disqualification.
17. Other Information: In the event of a tie in the race results, the decision of the organizers will be final. In such cases, where two or more runners achieve identical finish times, the organizers will carefully review the circumstances and relevant data to determine the official ranking and entitlement to any applicable prize money. The decision of the Organisers shall be final and binding on all.
