CAEP program is a California Department of Fish and Wildlife program, it is supported by regional sponsors. Each regional sponsor provides support to teachers by assisting with permitting, egg delivery and tank maintenance. We connect schools with community partners and resources. In this program teachers host salmon or trout tanks in their classroom from January - March and release fish in the designated rivers. Students learn about watersheds, interactions within ecosystems, life cycles as well as human impact and dependence on habitats.
