GUIDE TO A GREEN SCHOOL WORKSHOP SERIES
These workshops are meant to support a district/school with becoming a green, sustainable and climate ready schools. The workshops may be attended in order, or choose where your school is ready to start. At the end of this workshop series you will have the information, resources and action steps to create a district/site climate action plan. By implementing these action steps you will be on the path to completing the application for the CA Green Ribbon School Award and supporting your district with implementing the State Seal of Civic Engagement.
In this workshop we will be reviewing the parts of the guide and helping to establish your site/district lens.

In this workshop we will be exploring ways in which your district/site can make changes to energy use, facilities, waste practices and water consumption in order reduce your greenhouse gas emissions.

In this workshop you will explore changes in custodial services, maintenance and landscape services, air and water quality, and nutrition and fitness programs.

In this workshop we will explore ways to create an effective environmental & sustainability education program for all students K-12. We will discuss policies, programs and curriculum that is offered to your students and whether is it accessed equitably by all students.

In this workshop we will explore different educational funding sources that can be leveraged to implement changes to becoming a green, sustainable and climate ready district/school.

A Guide to a Green School: Climate Action Plan for Districts and Schools.
Check out the Guide to a Green School. This guide will be completed during each of the workshop series and is meant to support a district/school with exploring potential changes to reduce GHG emissions, improve health and wellbeing and provide effective environmental and sustainability education.

The CA Green Ribbon Schools award recognizes schools for their commitment to reducing environmental impact and costs, improving health and wellness, and providing effective environmental education. Learn more about the GRS award in our recorded workshop series and use the resources to start the Green Ribbon School Process with your school. One TCSJ continuous unit is available upon completion of program requirements.
