Homework

Students in 1st grade will receive both math and reading homework throughout the week for extra practice! 

Monday and Wednesday-differentiated reading + comprehension questions

Tuesday and Thursday-math activity sheet based on our in class lesson (a second differentiated activity sheet will be added later on in the school year)

No homework on Friday! :-)

Extra reading each night, 10-15 minutes out loud helps improve fluency :)

A spelling list will be given out each week on Monday (focusing on a specific phonics pattern and/or sight words) and the words will be tested the following Monday. We will practice the words in class each day in order for the kids to only "review" over the weekend!

The subjects of religion, science, and social studies will only need to be "studied" if we have a little mini assessment throughout the trimester :) 

*Challenge books will be sent home each month! This is a chance for kids to get in some extra reading practice and complete a book report!
