Meet

Dr. Maloney

Welcome to St. John Brebeuf School, Home of the Jaguars!

My name is Dr. Mary Maloney, and I am pleased to be part of the SJB family. I have been the Principal of SJB School since 2017. Before coming to SJB, I was a Principal, Assistant Principal, and teacher in the public school system. I also spent time creating and presenting professional development for educators at all levels for the Regional Office of Education. I was blessed to have spent 2 years serving in the Peace Corps as a teacher in Cameroon, Africa right after I graduated from college.

I received my Bachelors in History and English from the University of Notre Dame; my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from DePaul University; and my Ph.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago.

I am very proud of my two sons, Patrick and Quinn. Patrick is the middle school science teacher at our school, and Quinn is on the path to becoming a carpenter. I have a grandcat named Greg, and he is the sweetest cat!

When I am away from SJB, I love spending time with my family and friends; attending live music concerts; and exploring new places.

St. John Brebeuf School is the best place I have ever worked. I absolutely love our community! Our school is the largest ministry of our Parish. Our Pastor, Fr. Jason Torba, supports our school steadfastly. His spiritual and practical guidance are immensely valuable for our students' growth. Our academic program is rigorous and differentiated to meet all student needs. Our staff builds connected relationships with our families, and provides abundant communication.

Please feel free to give me a call or send an email anytime.

Blessings,

Dr. Maloney
